midhunmnair87 Posted March 7, 2019 Posted March 7, 2019 Hi All,Is there any general guideline/document available which can help in varying the RMS / Offset heat flux to adapt the profile to measured profile (as calculated from measured data). I am currently using the trial and error method until the results converge. I also believe same profile can be achieved at different combination of RMS/OFFset heat fluxes.
Rogier Posted March 18, 2019 Posted March 18, 2019 Hi,You are right that you can have similar mean shear by using different combinations of a heat flux offset/rms. Usually we recommend to just change the offset heat flux and make sure that your wind measurements profile fits that value. You can see some examples of how this looks like for example Fig. 6 in this report:http://orbit.dtu.dk/files/110948908/DTU_Wind_Energy_E_0072.pdf
