Morten Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 The Coriolis parameter is proportional to sin(lat) - thus highest with opposite signs at the two hemispheres and zero at the equator. WAsP Engineering applies this parameter for conversions between 'observed', 'geostrophic' and 'generalized' winds, using the so-called geostrophic drag law. In contrast, the longitude is not used in the model.
