CKRutledge Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 There are two WASP project parameters associated with the heights of the boundary layer. They are:"factor in height of boundary layer over land" and "factor in height of boundary layer over sea". I cannot find their meaning in the European Wind Atlas document or elsewhere. My planetary boundary layer height averages 0.8km over land and 0.4 km over sea. My site is close to the coastline. Can you suggest how these two parameters should be set and explain the logic behind the setting?THANK YOU..Kendall
CKRutledge Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Hi Mark,We presently use V10.2. I appreciate any information you can offer. Thank you,Kendall
Mark Kelly Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Hello Kendall, in v10.2 this is a way of changing the upper-ABL damping of the stability correction. It controls how 'sharply' the damping is done, as it is the factor p in the damping exp[-(z/zg)^p].
CKRutledge Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Hi Mark,Thank you for responding. Ii should be then be useful in our optimizations to help control the upper portions of the profiles.Thank you much,Kendall
