mango Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 Dear Wasp team and users: I have encountered a problem that the roughness speedup is lower, however, the power density is higher. the project area is located at an inter-tidal zone, where I set the roughness length from offshore to land, 0 m, 0.001 m, 0.05 m, respectively. the elevation is the same, so the orography speedup is the same in any area and any sectors. there is no obstacle. the wrg results showed that, although the roughness speedup of inter-tidal area is smaller than that in the ocean, the power density of the inter-tidal area is bigger than that in the ocean. (I can't post figures here, so I list one sector data below)sector 4(90 degree)============================================================ land inter-tidal sea============================================================roughness-length (m) 0.05 0.001 0roughness speedup -4.2% -0.65% 0.00power density (W/m2) 205 365 271============================================================here, the inter-tidal power density is the highest of the 3 areas. I think the roughness speedup is reasonable, however, the power density is probably wrong. could anybody give me some help? regards!Caplinav Jer
Duncan Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Hi Mango / Jer,Yes, it's hard to understand without a map of the site. Can you send me something by email?Duncan.
mango Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 Dear Duncan, Thanks for you reply. I followed the email link under your profile, however, I can neither post pictures nor add attached files. So I sent an email to waspsupport(at)risoe.dtu.dk. I don't know whether it works or not. Kindly could you provide your email privately, so I can contact you directly? my email is dengsecon(at)gmail.com. regards!Caplinav Jer
Duncan Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Thanks Mango, I have received the data. I think the answer will be specific to your case, so let's take this off the forums and handle it by email.
