alecisonline Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 Is there is a quick way to correct the standard air density to hub height air density?
IMRAN AHMED Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 For this correction, one should at least know the site specific Annual Atmospheric Temperature & altitude values of the site. There is no quick way to get the Site Spc AD. By applying these two parameters in the AIR DENSITY CALCULATOR (WAsP) we can get the site specific (or Hub height) air density values. However site specific air density derived from this method in not so precise. The WAsP AIR DENSITY CALCULATOR gives the results by referring " Air density table" (Temp against Elevation). To get the correct Site specific Air density, one should have the site mast measured Atmph Pressure & Temperature values (min 1 yr period). after processing this, any wind data analysis tool will give the precise site Spc AD. -And to do a better energy calculation we should apply this site Spc AD to the Power curve by doing leaner interpolation [IEC].
