rogerkammler Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Hi Dears,I have a doubt about the wasp modeling when the standard parameters(heat flux and RMS) of wasp is different at site. For example, one site has the neutral atmospheric stability, with 100 m of height measurements. What error Will I found in the extrapolation between met mast and wtgs ( 100 m of hub height), when the parameters of wasp (heat and rms) are set to a slightly stable atmospheric?Regards.
Niels Gylling Mortensen Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 If the mast and turbines are of the same approximate height, the WAsP modelling will be quite insensitive to the values of the heat flux parameters -- and to the assignment of roughness length values to the different land cover classes. This is exactly why it is recommended to deploy met. masts that are as high as the wind turbine hub height. If the mast and turbines are of very different heights, you can estimate the effect of stability using WAsP.
