TerranaT Posted December 15, 2011 Posted December 15, 2011 Hi gentlemen.Reading your help page "Using the RIX program", I was trying to correct my mean wind speed on my ressource grid. There is a table representing the relation betweend dRIX and mean wind speed on the page (Northen Portugal test). Is it possible to obtain the formula of the representative curb ? Thx.
Niels Gylling Mortensen Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 The information is given in the paper "IMPROVING WAsP PREDICTIONS IN (TOO) COMPLEX TERRAIN", see http://www.wasp.dk/Support/Literature.aspx. It seems the link is broken right now, but I'll try to fix it.
TerranaT Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Ok thanks you Niel.Nevertheless, is it necessary to apply corrections to each sectors of each turbine sites? Or can we "just" apply a generally correction to all sectors of a turbine site ? (using the site dRIX)
Niels Gylling Mortensen Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 I usually apply the same correction percentage to all sectors at a turbine site. So, I 1) find the dRIX (total) for each turbine site, 2) determine the correction for each turbine site, 3) insert this number for all the sectors for each turbine site. This has worked well for me so far, and I haven't been able to improve the predictions by inserting different corrections for different sectors.
TerranaT Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Another question.Does the alpha value in the study (ie : alpha = 1.508) is an empiric value ?Can it be use to correct values in every cases ?
eskohar Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 Hi, I like to resume this topic thread. The only part on applying the correction factor I do not understand yet is the alpha parameter (slope of regression line) in the expression. How do I calculate that when there is another unknown parameter (Um) in the expression?
