Sinisa Knezevic Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Dear,I am trying to analyze the extreme wind estimation in a bit more detail. In the help files from WEng2 there are expressions for α and β in which there is one . Do the angle brackets mean average Umax of all the measured extreme winds, or something else(median)? On a first look, the described method for determining α and β there is not a standard linear regression, right?Thank you,Sinisa
Duncan Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 There is a paper which may give more detail...Kristensen, L., Rathmann, O. and Hansen, S. O.: 1999, Extreme winds in Denmark, Technical Report Risø-R-1068(EN) , Risø National Laboratory. ... but I don't have an electronic copy of that. Perhaps someone else can help?

Mark Kelly Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 For the extreme wind report by Kristensen et al (1999), try http://www.risoe.dtu.dk/rispubl/VEA/veapdf/ris-r-1068.pdf
