GSwan Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Hi,I am seeking clarification on RIX values output in WAsP's resource grid.- The RIX values represent the % area of land per WAsP node which 'probably' contains slopes greater than the acceptable 0.3, yes?- At what % RIX does the model become potentially unstable?- Is the delta-RIX value relative to a given nodes surrounding nodes? Thanks for your help,
Duncan Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 Have you checked the help file? If you search for RIX you'll find a section called "Limitations of the flow model".An explanation of the delta-rix approach is given in http://www.wasp.dk/Support/DownloadFiles/Influence%20of%20topographical%20input%20data.pdf
Niels Gylling Mortensen Posted July 14, 2011 Posted July 14, 2011 Check out the literature in general on the WAsP web site: http://www.risoe.dtu.dk/en/WAsP/Support/Literature.aspx. There are several papers and reports on complex terrain, RIX and dRIX.
